About the Director
Anette Kettenbach MA, LMFT was born and
raised in Germany and lived there until age 22. Afterwards, she moved to
California and stayed there all of her adult life until she came to Singapore, in
May 2006.
She obtained her Master Degree in Clinical Psychology as well as her State License as a Marriage Family Therapist in California. Overall, Anette has had clinical experiences of more then 8 years and she offers her services to children, adolescence, adults, couples, families and groups.
State Licensing Requirements; 3000 hours of Supervised Clinical work with clients, followed by a written and oral examination.
Anette has treated families and couples and given them the tools to learn better communication, conflict resolution and anger management skills. She has lead different kind of groups and taught group therapy at Lasalle Collage here in Singapore. She also worked with children, adolescents and adults.
From a theoretical background she bases her work on Object Relations Theory with the addition of Cognitive Behavioral and Existential Theory. As a family therapist, she works from a Systems Approach Model and uses play, art and talk therapy when working with children, adolescence and adults. When working with couples, she uses the tools and methods of Imago Relationship Therapy.
Over the years Anette has worked in different types of settings like for example in private practice as a Marriage Family Therapist, for a mental health agency as an Outpatient Psychotherapist, and in a school with emotionally disturbed children as a School Psychotherapist. The ages of her clients have ranged from 4 to 60 years.
The problems her clients were dealing with had to do with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Oppositional Defiance, Anger Management/ Impulse Control, Obsessive Compulsion, Substance Abuse and Eating Disorders with Distorted Self Image, Anxiety, Depression or being Suicidal, Surviving of Sexual Abuse, Relationship Problems etc....
Because of having lived in Europe, USA and now Asia, Anette has had the privilege and opportunity to offer her services to people from many different cultures, ages and backgrounds. She is still fluent in speaking her mother language and offers her services in German and English.
